Where does Time go…?

So they announced on the news this morning, that summer is officially over. Today is the first day of the meteorological autumn. Well I might have a short memory but where was summer? Was it those few nice days we had in July – before the school summer holiday? Or maybe we are yet to be surprised and have a late summer? Let’s hope!

Enough said about the meteorological non-event. This summer has seen my daughter take her GCSE exams. Ten taken, ten passed with As and Bs!! We are all really proud of her. It is lovely to see the results of her hard work rewarded in this way. She can now go on to study A levels.

We have all had a wonderful holiday in Lefkas, Greece, soaking up some sunshine and enjoying Greek hospitality. Must admit to being a little uneasy about the holiday as Greece faced so many decisions about their financial position BUT I have to say the Greeks didn’t show any signs of their problems.

Now we find ourselves at the beginning of another school year and the usual ‘it doesn’t seem five minutes since…’, in this case it doesn’t seem five minutes since the children were starting primary school and now daughter starts sixth form. Where does the time go…?

Hello

Hello and a very warm welcome to you.

As a mum to two teenage children, there’s always something to talk about – exams, friendships, the state of modern music -you know, why so many songs seem to have a ‘featuring’ artist, oh, or Minecraft as it heads for world domination. Now on this subject, it is my intention to have Minecraft lessons from my son because, quite frankly, the world of Minecraft seems much more exciting to a fourteen year old than the actual world he lives in!

However, my blog will also give me the space to inflict my own writing on anyone who wishes to read it. I don’t claim to be an accomplished writer but I enjoy writing and that’s my motivation. I am currently working on a children’s picture book which I would like to send out into the world to try its chance at publication.

Thank you for taking an interest in my blog and I look forward to sharing my world with you!
